I just e-mailed my congressman, and now feel very efficacious. I always stumble over exactly HOW to address my congressman, since I sort-of know him. I feel that this is probably a bad approach: "So, I was talking to your son, Rob, the other day when...bam! HR1217 came up and, you know what - I'm just not a big fan of the SOA/WHINSEC, and feel that, you should probably be standing with McGovern on this one. How's your daughter getting on - the most I can get out of Rob is a 'fiiiiine,' but I'm sure she's tearing it up out there! I hope this letter finds you well and not in favor of a school which teaches Latin American Dictators how to be notorious Geneova convention violaters! See you around Roanoke!"

I oped for the not-so-personal/dumb e-mail. Hopefully it went off well.
